「指示する」「命じる」
例：The store owner directed the staff to close early.（店のオーナーは、スタッフに早めに店を閉めるよう指示した。）
例：The manager directed everyone to relax — and then gave them more work.（マネージャーは「リラックスして」と指示し、その直後に仕事を増やした。）
「案内する」「誘導する」

direct よく使うイディオム
- direct someone to ～ … ～へ案内する／～するよう指示する
例：The receptionist directed the clients to the meeting room.（受付係はクライアントを会議室へ案内した。）
※ show は実際に一緒に行って「見せる・連れて行く」案内。
※ direct は方向や行き先を示して「誘導する」案内。
例：Please direct users to contact support.（利用者にはサポートに連絡するよう案内してください。）
